Collect

O God of peace,
who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ,
that great shepherd of the sheep,
by the blood of the eternal covenant,
make us perfect in every good work to do your will,
and work in us that which is well-pleasing in your sight;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen. [1]

Holy Shepherd,
you know your sheep by name
and lead us to safety through the valleys of death.
Guide us by your voice,
so that we may walk in certainty and security
to the joyous feast prepared in your house,
where we celebrate with you for ever.  Amen. [2]

Life abundant, God of grace,
you call us by name to live without fear:
in peace may we resist all who kill and despoil your people,
so that their hearts might be turned to the only source of life;
through Jesus Christ, the gateway.  Amen. [3]

O God,
you never cease to call even those far away,
for it is your will that all be drawn into one fold.
Attune our ears to the voice of the Good Shepherd,
who leads us always to you,
so that we may find under your tender protection
life in all its fullness.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
the resurrection and the life,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.  Amen. [4]

Almighty God,
whose Son Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life:
raise us, who trust in him,
from the death of sin to the life of righteousness,
so that we may seek those things which are above,
where he reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.  Amen. [5]

Risen Christ,
faithful shepherd of your Father’s sheep:
teach us to hear your voice
and to follow your command,
so that all your people may be gathered into one flock,
to the glory of God the Father.  Amen. [6]

O God our shepherd,
you know your sheep by name
and lead us to safety through the valley of death.
Guide us by your voice,
so that we may walk in certainty and security
to the joyous feast prepared in your house,
through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and forever.  Amen. [7]

Prayer over the Gifts

God of loving care,
you spared before us the table of life,
and give us the cup of salvation to drink.
Keep us always in the fold of your Son Jesus Christ,
our Saviour and our shepherd.  Amen. [8]

Blessed are you, O God, ruler of heaven and earth.
Day by day you shower us with blessings.
As you have raised us to new life in Christ,
give us glad and generous hearts,
ready to praise you and to respond to those in need,
through Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.  Amen. [9]

Prayer after Communion

Merciful Father,
you gave your Son Jesus Christ to be the good shepherd,
and in his love for us to lay down his life and rise again:
keep us always under his protection,
and give us grace to follow in his steps;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen. [10]

Life-giving God,
in the mystery of Christ’s resurrection
you send light to conquer darkness,
water to give new life,
and the bread of life to nourish your people.
Send us forth as witnesses to your Son’s resurrection,
so that we may show your glory to all the world,
through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord.  Amen. [11]

God of steadfast love,
watch over the Church redeemed by the blood of your Son.
May we who share in these holy mysteries
come safely to your eternal kingdom,
where there is one flock and one shepherd.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ the risen Lord.  Amen. [12]
